New Year....New Project

I started a pair of socks yesterday. Here's what I've got so far:

My sister held my hand through the one pair of socks I knitted and I'll admit, I've already called her to ask a question. But I'm happy that even though I really didn't know if I was doing it right, so far it looks like I'm moving in the right direction. It's only the toe for goodness sakes, but I'm still proud of myself. Knittinghelp.com is also an invaluable resource.

I bought this yarn up in Washington when Miss K and I were there for a visit, and taking a break from school woes. It's a fun and cheerful color changing yarn called green envy, a superwash wool yarn from Red Heart.

I'm hoping they will be relatively quick to make up since they are just sockies. Here's a picture of what I'm hoping they'll look like when I'm done:

Your sock looks great so far! And I am really impressed that you are doing a toe-up sock. Haven't tried that method yet but really want to. Pretty yarn! I forgot what you had picked.

I tried to learn to knit on our Christmas roadtrip. My scarf mysteriously grew from 18 loops wide to 28 loops wide over the course of about 15 rows. I pulled the whole thing apart and cried. So sad. I wish I could knit a scarf half as nice as your socks!

Hey Tina! Those are going to be so gorgeous. I already love them. I have never tried making socks from the toe up before, maybe that will be on my list of things to try this year.
