Field Trip

I took a field trip on Saturday to the Del Mar Quilt, Craft and Sewing Festival.  I was a bit bummed because I had forgotten about it until late the night before.  I only had a little time in the morning to go.  So I wasn't able to invite anyone to go with me at the last minute.  But it ended up being fun anyway.  Lots of fun things to look at.  I felt a bit rushed, but I made it through the whole place checking all the booths out.

Here's what I came home with: 026(2)

20 fat quarters for $1.50 each!    The booth was Lazy Daisy Cottage from St. George, UT.  They had the cutest fabric choices by far!  Even the shopping bag was cute, a vellum bag with daisies all over it.  And I also picked up a couple half-yard cuts of polka dots from another booth.

I was intrigued by the Miracle Ironing Board Cover.  It's made from fiberglass yarn and is supposed to reflect the heat from the iron, so the heat is coming from the top and bottom.  And it seemed to really leave you with a nicely ironed fabric...but after I spent the money on the fabric I decided to wait a bit on that.  I do have an order form, but I'll have to pay shipping and handling if I decide I can't live without it.  Have you had any experience with this Ironing Board cover?  Leave a comment if you do!

As I was hurrying toward the door to head home I looked over and recognized a local blogger.  I only know her from her blog, so what a treat it was to recognize her and get to talk to her for a few short minutes and to meet her son and husband !  A highlight of the day for sure!

Those are the cutest fabrics ever. I say we need a road trip to Utah to check out their options. :)

Your fabric finds are fabulous. The Lazy Daisy is a cute shop. I've been there a few times when I've been down visiting my mom.

Those are fabrics after my own heart. When I was at lasy daisy recently they did have such cute fabric. I really want to know more about that ironing board cover. Does it come in colors/patterns? I looked at the website but couldn't see a photo of the cover. Interesting though.

That is a great fabric find - cute and inexpensive! The trifle in your previous post looks delicious. I can see why it was chosen over plain old cake.

I was so glad to see you on Saturday! You really scored at the Lazy Daisy booth, by the time I got there everything was $2.50 a fat quarter. I hope they raised their prices or else I just missed out on a steal.
