Wet and Soggy San Diego

We're experiencing almost non-stop rain! My backyard is practically a swimming pool. Monday I was out in it running from store to store trying to make a dent in my Christmas shopping list. Today I am inside staying dry and enjoying my Christmas tree lights and trying to make a dent in my laundry piles.

I keep reading about all of you that are at your sewing machines madly sewing all sorts of cool Christmas gifts for your loved ones. I just can't seem to get myself there. And I've got a cold, so that makes me even less motivated. I'm continuing the theme I've had for the last 4 months ::simplify:: taking it slow and just giving myself a break.

I am loving all the fun things about Christmas: the decorations that come out once a year with so many fun memories, making gingerbread houses (pictures to come once we're done!), giving gifts, listening to Christmas music, driving around to see the Christmas lights, taking the kids shopping for gifts for each other and so many more fun holiday activities. Last night I attended my son's high school winter concert. Good stuff.

Sorry you're sick! Does it help that it's not raining!!! I am loving that red tree decoration on your table. Is that all fabric? The pattern is cool. I need to read the other bloggers on your site to see all these creative ideas people are coming up with for holiday gifts! Nothing says Christmas like "home made".

I love your decorated home - so cozy and inviting! I hope you get over your cold in time for Christmas! I'm glad I'm not the only one not working on some kind of Christmas project. SIMPLIFY - love it! There's a package on the way to you, so watch for it. *hugs*
