Happy Halloween

The sunrise was so pretty this morning. After I dropped my oldest off at school I tried to take a picture of it (realizing that it probably wouldn't turn out taking the picture right into the sun). And check this out, the sun happened to be right behind the sign when I snapped the picture! (Do you think taking pictures while you're driving should be against the law like talking on a cell phone?)

Happy Halloween! No school for middle or elementary today, so the kids are playing with their friends, and there will be some trick or treating tonight.

Crafty, Creative and Fit Update: (see my sidebar) I went running this morning for the first time in almost 2 months. I was really on a roll over the summer. I was running 3 times a week, and loving it! Then I hit a snag. I was a little apprehensive about running again after the long break, but it felt great. I'm so glad I got myself up off my butt! I hope I will be able to keep it up!

Polly from quilterpolly loves to quilt passed this BFF Gold Card along to me last week. Polly is an amazing girl who is working and going back to school, and taking every challenge that comes her way with style. Thank you so much Polly!

the Blogging Friends Forever rules are:

1. only five people allowed.
2. four have to be dedicated followers of your blog.
3. one has to be someone new, or recently new to your blog, or live in another part of the world.
4. you must link back to whoever gave you the BFF award.

I'm going to break the rules a bit. There are so many fun blogs and wonderful friends I'd like to pass this along to, that I just don't want to choose. So if anyone wants to grab this and pass it along, feel free!

Here's my latest project...my ALQS doll quilt. I enjoyed making my Halloween zig zag table runner, so I decided to do something similar with my doll quilt.

I'm also trying something new. I'm doing some embroidery.

It makes me remember how much I like to do hand work. I don't do enough of it. I hope my partner will like it! The deadline is fast approaching, so I need to finish it up and get it on it's way! It has a long way to travel.

Mr. Potatoe Head made me laugh! Hope your Halloween was great and that your kids don't have to much of a sugar high today. Love your zig zag quilt. Have a great day!

"Notions" for comments--how cute! I love it! Your quilt is beautiful! Why no school on Friday? Was it a teacher prep day or do they just not want to deal with the holiday?
