Making Stuff for Babies

I've been seeing cute banners all over blogland and so has my friend Diane.  She had a baby shower at her house tonight and asked me to make a banner with the baby's name on it for the shower.  It's always fun when you have an excuse to make something!  I considered making it out of fabric.  But paper was much quicker and easier this week.  So paper won out.

It was a hit and Mom said she's going to hang it in the baby's room.  So the banner will have a permanent home!

For her gift I made up three of those patchwork balls.  But I forgot to take a picture!  You'll have to use your imagination.  One matched the colors in the banner.

I haven't gotten as far as I had hoped on my sailboat quilt this week.  But here are three of the 9 sailboats that I need to make:

As long as babies are being born around me, there will always be an excuse to make a quilt or some other fun project!

Ok, I'm just saying, those baby shower invites need to pass ward boundaries. Ha! The banner is cute, and I'm sure Lynn loved the balls!
